About Us
Gumnut Furniture was originally established as ‘Sungarden Furniture’ in 1962 making garden furniture for the local market. The business underwent a change of ownership, location and name (to Gumnut) in the early 1980's. We purchased the business in 1986 and set about growing it and improving the manufacturing technology. By 1992 we required larger production facilities and moved to our current location whilst maintaining a retail outlet. In 2000 we moved out of retail to concentrate on manufacturing and wholesaling. Business grew and we gained valuable experience in shipping product worldwide to retail outlets.
We hold strong views regarding the stability, strength and durability of our products and never compromise the integrity of our designs or construction. Like many people we love timber and believe that this beautiful and precious resource should be used with respect by building products that will last.
Our commitment to build a strong and durable product efficiently and cost effectively paid off and we have long held a reputation for superior construction and long-term durability. . We offer substantial warranties and set build quality benchmarks that have raised industry standards. We have designed new timber joints and fastenings to massively improve the ease of assembly and quality of the stability of flat-pack items. We're very proud of how simple home assembly is and without compromising strength and durability.
Today at Gumnut Furniture Pty Ltd (also T/A Gumnut Manufacturing) we see the internet as an excellent and additional way of being environmentally responsible as it enables us, in selling factory direct, to eliminate the multiple transporting and handling scenarios that would otherwise exist. We are happy and proud to offer flexible, frank and honest service that our customers genuinely appreciate.
