Gumnut Furniture was originally established as ‘Sungarden Furniture’ in the 1950’s making garden furniture for the local market. The business underwent a change of ownership, location and name (to Gumnut) in the early 1980’s.
In 1987 the business was bought by Tom Scullin and underwent many changes in the area of manufacturing technology, joint construction, dispatch, flat packing, etc. By 1991 a larger production facility was required and Tom shifted operations to 5 Leonard Crescent, Brendale. In 2010 Tom decided to retire and Gumnut Furniture was purchased by the Reibelt and Burns families. We now operate and manufacture out of 15 Leonard Crescent, Brendale and have a purpose built showroom open to the public.

Like many people we love timber and believe that this beautiful and precious resource should be used with respect and so we manufacture products that will last for many years.
The commitment to build a strong and durable product efficiently and cost effectively has paid off and Gumnut Furniture has a long held reputation for superior construction and long-term durability. We offer substantial warranties on our products. We use “mortise and tenon” and “knuckle” joints and specifically designed fastenings to improve the ease of assembly and ensure quality of the stability of flat-pack items. We’re very proud of how simple home assembly is without compromising strength and durability.
At Gumnut Furniture we offer two ranges of outdoor furniture. Our Outdoor Range is constructed of a hardwood (Kwila) and is suitable for fully exposed garden situations. The Outunder™ Range is constructed of Queensland Hoop Pine (Araucaria) and suitable for outdoor undercover areas, e.g. covered patio and deck situations. |
